The Arts Council announces Painting with Patrick.
The
Arts Council announces art with Patrick will resume for the New Year at
the Larimer Arts Center, 216 Reid St. Palatka. Patrick welcomes all
students at all levels of experience. Come enjoy our newly heated and
air conditioned art room.
The next 4 week art group
will begin January 10th. There will be both a morning ( 9-12 ) group
and an afternoon ( 1-4 ) group. Cost is $40.00 for the 4 week session.
The
morning painting I will do as a demonstration will be of a nautical
nature. I chose to paint a "dinghy dock" where sailors tie off their
dinghy (small row boat, tender) to a public dock. This will be very
much like painting a still life. I was able to alter the image with
photoshop to make it a better painting composition. Besides the
dinghies, the reflections in the water will be the challenge and point
of interest.
The
afternoon painting demonstration will be a small racing sailboat under
way. I felt this photo stood out from the many (hundreds) I looked at
to be representative of the excitement, beauty and fluidity that is
sailing. I rarely find an image 100% ready to paint and this was no
exception. Once again, I used photoshop to make some adjustments.
