“Live at the Larimer” started three years ago when Dean Parrish, Nicole Aiken, and Denise Aiken approached The Arts Council of Greater Palatka’s Board of Directors with a plan to start a coffee house in the Scarlett Hill Theater, a place where people could relax and enjoy a variety of talented artists. There began our monthly series, “Live at the Larimer.”
Each fourth Friday of the month we have music groups or solo acts come to the Larimer and perform, usually followed by an open mike. In the last three years we have had fabulous talent grace us with their music, their poetry, and even their jokes. We have been able to give the opportunity for young musicians such as local resident Zach Tremblay a place to showcase their incredible talents.
We serve great coffee and light refreshments to our guests, and we invite them to enjoy the art in our galleries.
We would like to invite you to come and spend an evening with us and experience great music in a casual atmosphere. “Live at the Larimer” is held on the fourth Friday of the month at the Historic Larimer Art Center located at 216 Reid Street Palatka Florida. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Show starts at 7:00 pm. Cost is $5.00 at the door.
We want to thank the Putnam County Tourist Development Council, Dunkin' Donuts, our members, and all of our performers!

Great music, coffee and good company that's what you will get from the Arts Council's next "Live at the Larimer" on February 26th. Performing will be Dim Lights at the Larimer Arts Center 216 Reid St., Palatka. Doors open at 6:30 and show starts at 7:00 PM. Cost is $7.00 at the door. Light refreshments and coffee will be served.
Dim Lights is a group of 4 Gainesville area musicians playing lively down-home music. Ned Stewart, on guitar, has a fabulous voice and picking style, singing songs of Jessie Winchester, Claire Lynch, John Anderson, and Merle Haggard, to name a few. Karan Newman, on mandolin, fills in with a few vocals of her own and adds harmony to Ned's songs. Gerald Snyder is another fabulous singer. He adds a nice blend of ballads, bluegrass, and folk songs. His great rhythm guitar really fills out the sound, his harmony vocals are fantastic, and he adds some fine melodic leads to the mix. Chuck Spitzner fills in the spaces and provides a rhythmic beat with the upright bass. You’re sure to enjoy this quartet with their nice blend of Americana, country, lively bluegrass, and old-time songs and instrumentals.
