The Arts Council of Greater Palatka invites you to join us at the opening reception for artist Ramon Baquera who will be exhibiting in our galleries at the Larimer Art Center on Friday, September, 10th at 5:30.  Evelyn Snyder gallery chair says come meet the artist, view impressive works of art and have an enjoyable evening with friends. The reception is free and open to the public.  The Historic Larimer Arts Center is located at 216 Reid St., Palatka.  Light refreshments will be served.  The show will run through September 30^th. 

Ramon Baquera was born in Jaurez Mexico. He moved to the United States at the age of sixteen. He was always interested in art, and from a very young age was fascinated by colors. It wasn't until the age of 30 that Ramon began to develop as a serious artist. Influenced by a very special friend, Ramon decided to pursue his passion for art. Ramon believes art is a very individual medium, and is often a very personal form of expression. He finds that he paints mostly for the esthetic gratification he receives while he is in 'the zone' of creation. 

Ramon's subject matter ranges from photo-realistic wildlife, to portraits to landscape scenes. 

Ramon exhibits’ in area galleries in Northeast Florida. He has been published in local newspapers and magazines, has won several awards locally, and has work in private collections in the area. Ramon owns a gallery in Crescent City, at 312 Central Avenue.
