“Silent No More: Out of the Darkness” 2008 Art Show

"Silent No More: Out of the Darkness," is an art show that will depict art by survivors of domestic, dating, sexual violence and child abuse. “Survivor” may be defined as a primary victim, a witness of ongoing violence (raised w/as child) or traumatic incident or secondary victim, i.e., family member/significant other affected by primary victim’s abuse. If you are a survivor of violence and want an opportunity to display your work in a meaningful way, consider submitting up to 2 works for this important show. All mediums are acceptable, including sculpture, textile, writings, painting, sketching, collage, etc. If desired, Art may be displayed anonymously, with no signature or identifying marks for the public. Please contact April Curtis at 325-4447 to arrange drop off of your art pieces, or bring by 2511 Crill Avenue, Palatka (governmental office complex-Azalea Plaza, small building separate from main structure) by 5 p.m. September 22 for inclusion in the show. Guidelines for submitted work are available at the Tilghman House Art Center, Lee Conlee House administrative office or by calling the above number.
